Implementation Engineer              Group IT - UK (remote) 

We are looking for an experienced Implementation Engineer to join our expanding global IT team, capable of delivering service excellence by ensuring the smooth delivery of the company's technology & software implementation projects. The role requires a highly customer centric approach and communication with stakeholders at all levels across a global business. Technical experience of delivering internal projects & solutions within business estates utilizing Microsoft cloud services is essential.


The role includes a fair amount of autonomy, complexity and professional development opportunities. Strong communication and self-organization skills alongside a desire to deliver excellence will be required.

The engineer will design and build modern implementations, integrations and business solutions, primarily using Microsoft cloud services and the Microsoft Power Platform. You will work closely with the IT Operations, Security, and Software Development teams to ensure the solutions are based on modern technologies that are scalable, and secure.

This new role sits within Group IT and its primary objective is to deliver projects. The team is governed by the Global Head of IT and made up of Development and Operations personnel. The team delivers a mixture of projects including IT integrations of new business initiatives, strategic IT projects and requests from various business areas. The team works with colleagues globally across the Group and with various suppliers and outsourcers to achieve and fulfil their objectives.

As an Implementation Engineer, you will be comfortable working on various IT projects, creating solutions and providing technical guidance. You will work collaboratively with other functions to implement technology platforms, integrations, and services. You will be comfortable continually learning new skills to stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends.


You will be focused on a large programme of work related to enterprise-wide software, alongside making improvements to existing platforms and software applications. You must have experience in delivering software solutions utilizing the Azure & Office 365 technology stack (PaaS, SaaS, IaaS) within large-scale IT environments.


Primary Responsibilities

Working within the UK IT team and reporting to the Global Head of IT, the role involves:   

  1. Working on IT Projects and delivering software solutions, integrations, custom configurations and implementations.
  2. Working closely with the IT operations/security/development teams to plan, design, and deliver technology solutions. 
  3. Strong software experience: software integrations, software implementations, API’s, etc.
  4. Focus on delivery to agreed scope, quality and timeframe with customer satisfaction as a core principle
  1. Design and configure software services including SaaS, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, etc. Interpreting high-level blueprints, reference architectures into low-level design solutions.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert for software & service issues. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders with cloud service matters, transferring skills and knowledge to the IT teams where applicable.
  1. Information management and reporting (internal and external). Willing to integrate within an existing team, work independently with agreed remit and autonomy.
  1. Documenting & reporting technology requirements. Creating & maintaining necessary documentation related to technical systems & business processes including diagrams, registers, reports, data models, Wiki, and user guides.
  1. Implementing a variety of different commercial off the shelf platforms, cloud services, software solutions. Managing related supplier relationships to provide an optimal user experience for staff, whilst supporting business intelligence initiatives using data manipulation & reporting.
  2. Ensuring that governance and compliance considerations such as Information Security and GDPR are fully taken into account throughout all IT processes. 

Experience & Skills

To be successful within this role you will have demonstrable experience within a similar role, or equivalent experience gained within an IT environment. You will also:   


  1. Be an accomplished cloud technologist with a broad range of general IT knowledge, able to seamlessly and efficiently get diverse tasks to align in pursuit of technical excellence. With a desire to continually improve, learn, and strive for excellence in a dynamically changing global environment.
  2. Have hands-on experience in implementing data & software solutions, integrations & automated workflows from transformation to visualisation.
  3. Have hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, Azure, Office 365, SharePoint, and related tools such as Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, API Gateway, Logic Apps etc.).
  4. Have experience in a delivery-orientated IT environment using agile methodologies and tooling. A detailed understanding of technical testing & automation is desirable.
  1. Experience implementing business software solutions such as accounting systems, reporting tools, ITSM, CRM, business management or business intelligence solutions.
  2. Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Must be a confident and articulated communicator, able to manage at times challenging stakeholders. 
  3. Have an organised, systematic approach and great attention to both quality & detail. Able to document and communicate process documentation that is user friendly and fit for purpose to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  4. Be very tech-savvy – even if your background is not strictly technical administration, you will need a good overall knowledge of IT and cloud services. 
  5. Have experience evaluating potential software products & platforms, comparing, scoring, and tendering to determine optimum solutions for business needs, and implementing accordingly.
  6. Knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous: Agile, DevOps, Firewalls, GDPR, IaaS. Information Security, ITIL, Networking, PaaS, Project Management, Programming, SaaS, Scripting. SharePoint.

The role is for a 6-month fixed-term contract position and is full-time 5 days per week, remote & based in the UK.

We are looking to fill this position ASAP with immediate start available.


Most of the staff are currently working remotely and will continue to work in this way for the next few months. This role is remote, you do not need to be based in London; however, you will be required to attend the London office on occasion (as COVID allows). Typically, the role is 9am – 5pm with flexible working time available, however, some outside of office hours support may be required on occasion. Travel to global offices may also be required on occasion.
