WiseEnergy is a trusted and established solar asset manager, offering all the services clients require to manage and optimise large-scale solar plants, from development and construction through to long-term operational asset management. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate finance professional to support in the audit of assets managed on behalf of one of our most important clients. 

The role demands strong accounting and audit capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder management.

We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about the people they work with, naturally seeks to collaborate and enjoys the buzz of good camaraderie. Although, as with all finance roles, you’ll need to have exceptional attention to detail, this role is not suitable for someone wanting to lock themselves away – you’ll need the right balance of introversion and extroversion to be comfortable in this role. In other words, you will be a valued business partner who can build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Role & responsibilities

Audit: Account Production

  • Setup CaseWare financial statement templates
  • Onboarding from previous account production team (external)
  • Preparation and self-review of financial statements for circa. 100 SPVs & HoldCos

Audit: Pack Review

  • Review audit packs for a caseload of entities

Audit: Management (supporting role)

  • Part of dedicated internal Audit Team
  • Addressing and delegating audit queries
  • Supporting on technical complexities
  • Contribute in weekly “check-in” calls with the auditors
  • Ensuring tasks completed to agreed deadlines

Corporate Tax

  • Working closely with internal tax specialists and external tax advisors, BDO
  • Review of tax provisions and computations for UK portfolio


  • Preparation and/or review of monthly management accounts for a caseload of entities (as required)
  • Other projects to be assigned (dependent on capacity)

Knowledge, skills & experience

This is a mid-senior level role requiring true depth in terms of finance, audit, tax and accounting knowledge, skills and experience, in addition to a broader skillset spanning areas such as people and stakeholder management.


  • ACCA/ ACA/CIMA qualification (essential)
  • Experience of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and IFRS (essential)
  • CaseWare (account production) software - advanced experience (essential)
  • 4+ years’ finance audit experience (essential)
  • A passion for process improvement and operational efficiency (essential)
  • Superb project management skills, robust, resilient and articulate (essential)
  • Renewable energy experience (highly desirable)
  • Fluent, advanced business level English (essential)
